Media Inc. puts you in the position of a news agency employee. You need to decide what kind of news to send out into the world, and will see the results of your decisions.

I made this game with Kai and Tatjana during the Global Game Jam 2018, January 25-27.
The theme of the Jam was Transmission and we used the diversifiers “A Bold Choice” (Audio) and “Hidden Depths” (Narrative).

I did the programming while Kai did design and writing, and Tatjana made the art assets. Kai and Tatjana also did the sound.

Bluebyte Game Jam: Don’t get Sick!

Don’t get Sick! is a game about an everyday man just trying to survive in the everyday apocalypse. Stay out of trouble with your boss, spend enough time with your family, keep an eye on your wealth, but most importantly: Don’t get Sick!

I made this game together with Violetta, Tristan, Tobias and Carsten during the Blue Byte Game Jam 2017, Nov 9 – 12.
The theme of the Jam was “Health” and we went with it quite literally. The other lose conditions – Family, Wealth, Job – came much later in the process.

Ocean Game Jam: Hero Shopper

Hero Shopper is an unsatisfying game where you go grocery shopping. The goal is to avoid buying food that is plastic packed, but you will find out that it is sometimes very hard to do that in our supermarkets. Nonetheless you must try your best. Be the hero that protects the Oceans!

I made this game together with Wang Ruolin and Zhang Ke for the Ocean Game Jam 2017 June 10/11 in Cologne.
We made the game to help raise awareness about the issues of non-degradable waste and the fact that we cannot really avoid buying food in plastic packaging. This last aspect is represented in the game, there are few foods that do not have plastic packaging (as in real stores) so the player will almost certainly lose very quickly. All food-items in the game were photographed by us in a nearby store.

Winnitron Game Jam: GenericSpaceShooter0815

GenericSpaceShooter0815 is a Co-op Highscore Space Shooter Game. One to four players shoot aliens to rack up their highscore!

I made this game in three days during our Cologne Game Lab Winnitron Game Jam. I used the Unity Tutorial Project as base, and enhanced the Gameplay by adding more enemies and a Boss, multiplayer, weapon upgrades and shields, as well as scaling difficulty. The game runs in a “demo” mode while no one is playing, and new players can join in at any time if a spot is open, making it a perfect fit for an arcade.

The game is made for a winnitron arcade machine, and cannot be enjoyed with four players on a PC (unless you have a NKRO Keyboard). However you can play it perfectly well with one or two people!
